Allah ﷻ is the most merciful to His creation, believers & disbelievers included. He is in charge of provision and life for all of them, blesses them with nourishments, health, well-being, happiness, luxuries, wealth.
Without keeping the Islamic Golden Age (العصر الإسلامي الذهبي) - 800s to 1300s in mind, noticed how all nonbelievers across world are more successful than most of the believers, in this current era?
Look at the west, USA, UK, Canada, and the likes. They possess military, technological, capitalistic, medical, and AI supremacy, alongside research and banking dominance. Their intellectual influence has permeated every Muslim household to the point of each family in the East contains some sort of Muslim subconsciously engrained with liberalistic values who won't stop listening to music, neglect the 5 prayers, obsess themselves in fashion, all while drowning in the hedonistic hole of entertainment and social-media, while frying their dopamine receptors, and losing تقوى of Allah.
Disbelievers are fully focused in the Duniya. They neglect focusing on the Creator, their Rabb (ربهم) and our Rabb (ربنا) created us from sounding clay moulded from black mud [15:28] and regardless, subjects them to the breath of oxygen, ray of sunshine, drop of rain, moment of motherly love, act of kindness, averted tragedy, as one of the observable manifestations of this mercy. However, does that mean disbelievers don't feel the empty void in their heart? The feeling of emptiness and blankness of the Soul not recognizing their Rabb?
وَمَنْ أَعْرَضَ عَن ذِكْرِى فَإِنَّ لَهُۥ مَعِيشَةًۭ ضَنكًۭا
But whoever turns away from My Reminder will certainly have a miserable life...
[20:124]
One of Allah's 99 names is the most Just (Al-Adl), despite their disbelief, gives them the reward in the Duniya:
"Whoever desires this fleeting world ˹alone˺, We hasten in it whatever We please to whoever We will;"
But then,
then We destine them for Hell, where they will burn, condemned and rejected. [17:18]
So whenever we hear Surah Al Ala being recited in Jummah prayers, perform Tadabbur (contemplation of the meaning) of this ayah:
بَلْ تُؤْثِرُونَ ٱلْحَيَوٰةَ ٱلدُّنْيَا ١٦
But you ˹deniers only˺ prefer the life of this world,
وَٱلْـَٔاخِرَةُ خَيْرٌۭ وَأَبْقَىٰٓ ١٧
even though the Hereafter is far better and more lasting.
[Surah Al Ala 16-17]
