Why Hellfire Must Exist

بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِيم

SCENARIO

Suppose a serial killer kills 1000 people, and you kill him once. How do you seek revenge for the 999 other people?

Atheists are often touched by the uncertainty of whether this world is real, a simulation, an experimental science project, or a form of hell itself. Let’s leave that out of the question. Hell has to exist. Looking at the above scenario, people might then imply that's why they educate and cure the mental defectiveness of these criminals. This would be the case after he gets punished for what he has done. But with the damage already done, a serial killer life happily ever after. What kind of justice is this? What if a serial killer kills 1,000 people and commits suicide? How do we seek revenge for the other 999 people? The reply would be that we can't. God handles this. The world is cruel; we can't be certain that criminals can get punishment; the worst is if they ever felt the punishment. Hell has to exist wherein the serial killer has to be tortured 999 more times, killed, and resurrected again. If you can’t relate to this example, suppose a serial killer kills your entire family of 5. What would be your next action? Seek revenge, right? You’d let the justice system execute the killer. But then you go back home, you lost your family, and you experience with the grief, sadness, and mental breakdowns, your entire life becomes an endless void of “Why did this happen to me?”. The killer has to be punished for this too, shouldn’t he or she? What about the other four dead family members? The existence of hell is based on the limitations of earthly justice, the need for divine retribution for extreme wrongdoings, and the belief that life is a test becomes clear.

A THOUGHT TO CONTEMPLATE ON

But here comes another question: if hell exists, paradise must exist too. Then how can a person go to paradise? This is where religion comes in. Because hell exists, there must be opposite of hell. It’s the reward we deserve for being on the right path and not letting sins or desires control our rationality. Newton says every action has an equal and opposite force. So based on the balance, in this system of life, it must be like that: There's night, but then there's day. There's sadness, but then there's happiness. So why do our brains stop working when we apply this exact same concept to hell and heaven too?
