Shariah Law

First, Islam teaches that Shariah comes from Allah; and as Allah is universal, eternal and perfect, Shariah shares the same attributes. So, in line with Allah’s universalism, Islamic doctrine teaches that Shariah should be applied throughout the world: all other legal systems that currently exist should give way to Shariah. Islamic law is superior to all other legal systems, Islam teaches, because it originates from a perfect source, Allah. In effect, it’s a global, legal system. Shariah transcends time and place. It is cross-cultural and ahistorical; that is, it is applicable to any society today and in the future. In Arabic, Sharia literally means "the clear, well-trodden path to water". Sharia acts as a code for living that all Muslims should adhere to, including prayers, fasting and donations to the poor. It aims to help Muslims understand how they should lead every aspect of their lives according to God's wishes.
